Pet First Aid
anzpetsit are proud to announce their first online Pet First Aid Course. The course is open to both pet sitters and pet owners around the world.
What would you do
if your own pet or one in your care suddenly became ill or was injured? Knowing the right steps to take during an emergency can protect a pet from further injury or even help save its life.
"A lot of pet owners don't realize there are some basic steps they can take in an emergency before they take their pet to the vet," said Dr. Tom Day, a veterinarian who specializes in emergency medicine and author of "The Pet Lover's Guide to First Aid & Emergencies."
Day, who served as a professional advisor and is a contributor to the course added, "This Online Pet First Aid Course is designed to teach basic emergency first aid from the comfort of your own home at your own pace so you can help prevent injury to yourself and further injury to your pet."
Through detailed instruction and videos, pet owners will learn how to:
1) Recognize emergencies
2) Provide emergency life support
3) Handle sudden illness
4) Care for wounds, bleeding and burns
5) Treat physical injuries
6) Handle poisoning and environmental emergencies
7) Prepare for disasters
Course participants will better understand normal pet behaviour and how to recognize behavioural changes. There are opportunities to check your understanding of the content throughout the course.
The course cost is $65 AUD or $79 NZD
