How to obtain a National Police Certificate (Record Check)

As a condition of membership to anzpetsit, we require all listed pet sitters to hold a clean National Criminal History Record Check. Information on how to obtain a record check can be found below:

N.B: Please note that in all circumstances you will need to provide identification documents when making your application and the application will usually incur a processing fee.


AUSTRALIA

Complete the application form, then contact the NSW Police station nearest your place of residence to organise a time and location to submit the completed application form.

Persons who seek a Police Certificate can make application at any police station in Queensland.

South Australia

Alternatively you can obtain a printed copy from your local police station.

Step 2: Check that you have 100 points of original identification as explained in the application form.

Step 3: Get your application processed.

Attend a police station with your:

  • completed application form
  • 100 points of original identification
  • photocopies of 100 points of identification, for certification
  • application fee.

South Australia Police (SAPOL) will then:

  • witness your signature on your application form
  • certify your 100 points of identification
  • complete the authorisation section on your application form
  • process your request within 10 - 15 working days.

or

See a Justice of the Peace with your:

  • completed application form
  • 100 points of original identification
  • photocopies of 100 points of identification, for certification.

Request the Justice of the Peace to:

  • witness your signature on your application form
  • certify your 100 points of identification
  • complete the authorisation section on your application form.

Post your completed application form, certified copies of your 100 points of identification and application fee - cheque or money order made out to 'South Australia Police' to:

Western Australia
You must apply in person at a participating (Bank@Post) Australia Post outlet and provide original proof of identification, based on the 100-point check use by banks.

Applications must be completed on the new application form only available at Australia Post outlets. You can complete the form before lodgment, but do not sign the form as your signature must be witnessed by an Australia Post Officer.
