What is Pet Sitting?

Pet Sitting is defined as "the act of caring for a pet in its own home while the owner is away".

It's a popular myth that sitters need keys to your home - this is not true!

If your sitter can care for the animals from outside the home this is just fine. However to receive the additional security benefits a visit from an anzpetsit member brings, such as alternating lights to retain the homes 'lived-in' look, a key is necessary.

A standard service from an anzpetsit member will include the following:

  • Feeding your pets
  • Washing up dishes and providing clean water
  • Administering medication (if needed)
  • Changing of kitty litter if caring for a cat
  • Emptying of the letterbox
  • Bringing in newspapers
  • Home and yard security check
  • Alternating lights on/off to ensure the property looks 'lived-in'
  • Opening and closing of curtains (if needed)
  • Take garbage bins to and from the kerb (if needed)
  • Watering plants (if needed)
  • Giving treats (if allowed)
  • And most importantly, lots of love and attention
